However, with the plastibell method, your son will have to wear the ring around their penis for a while after discharge, while with the Gomco technique, the clamp will be removed immediately after the procedure. Nevertheless, both procedures take between ten to thirty minutes, and your baby will have to be strapped down to a circumstraint board. Furthermore, the instruments used usually come in different sizes. Therefore, the doctor might have to err on the side of caution, leaving an extra amount of skin on the baby’s penis. This may result in adhesions or the penis looking baggy.
