Circumcision is a medical procedure that many males around the world undertake, some as infants others as adults. And the truth is, there’s no reason circumcision cannot be done at any age. However, there are benefits to doing it as early as possible. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider undergoing the procedure if you haven’t already if you may so wish. Adult Circumcision is, after all, a personal choice. But once you’ve chosen this path, it helps to know what to expect.

Our Approach to Adult Circumcision:

Easy Circumcision offers adult circumcision for those who were not circumcised as infants.  The procedure is performed in a medical office under local anesthesia.  The actual technique is identical to the technique I use for infant circumcision and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. I first administer a powerful local anesthetic to numb the area, so the client does not feel any part of the circumcision procedure. The anesthetic is administered in the form of an injection in the groin just above the shaft of the penis.  It will feel like a small prick.  I then wait five to ten minutes to ensure that the entire area is numb. Once I have ascertained that the entire area is numb, I proceed with the actual circumcision which takes about 60 seconds.  Because adults heal a bit slower than infants, self-absorbing sutures will be applied around the circumcision area to facilitate the healing process.

It is not uncommon to have some discomfort once the anesthetic wears off.  I recommend the use of an ice pack on and off the area on a15 minutes rotation.  If needed, Tylenol every 4 hours is usually more than adequate to address any discomfort.  Although clients can return to work the next day, they should avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activities for several days.  In addition, sexual intimacy should be avoided until the sutures disappear (10-14 days).

Conclusion:

Like with infant circumcision, the reasons why an adult may elect to undergo circumcision are the same:  Religious, medical and/or social.  If you are not circumcised and would like to learn more about my adult circumcision procedure, please contact me via email or by phone
