Doctor`s Circumcision vs. Holistic Circumcision

Should I circumcise my son? This is a question that many parents of newborn boy’s battle with. But once you’ve decided that circumcision is the way to go, then comes the even harder part – where should it be carried out? Should you take your baby to the hospital? Or should you opt for a holistic technique? Of course, every parent wants the best for their little angel. They hope to subject their son to a procedure that is both safe and pain-free. However, there are a lot more things to consider before you make the final decision. That said, let’s take a comparative look at holistic and hospital circumcision procedures to help you decide.
How is a hospital circumcision procedure performed?
Many parents assume that having their baby circumcised in a hospital is the safer way to go. A hospital is a sterile environment filled with trained professionals, after all, so it must be the safest option. However, that is not necessarily the case. Like with any surgery, there are always risks involved. But that aside, the hospital circumcision experience is vastly different from a holistic approach. In a hospital setting, your son can either undergo the Gomco clamp or Plastibell ring circumcision methods.

The two techniques are similar. For instance, they make use of a bell-type apparatus. However, with the plastibell method, your son will have to wear the ring around their penis for a while after discharge, while with the Gomco technique, the clamp will be removed immediately after the procedure. Nevertheless, both procedures take between ten to thirty minutes, and your baby will have to be strapped down to a circumstraint board. Furthermore, the instruments used usually come in different sizes. Therefore, the doctor might have to err on the side of caution, leaving an extra amount of skin on the baby’s penis. This may result in adhesions or the penis looking baggy.
What can I expect from a holistic circumcision procedure?
Our holistic approach to circumcision is very different from a hospital circumcision procedure, for both you and your baby. For one, the procedure will only take about 15 seconds, and all your son will feel is the separation of the mucus membrane to the glands, which takes one to two seconds maximum. It feels pretty like taking or ripping out a bandage. Also, your son won’t be strapped to a circumstraint board, as is the case with the hospital procedure. Instead, you will have the privilege of holding them down yourself, which makes for a very important and memorable moment in both your lives. In addition, in our holistic approach to circumcision, we only take out the exact amount of skin that is necessary and angle the cut in the unique shape of the baby’s penis, leaving a perfectly tailored circumcision.
